Згуртаванне беларусаў свету «Бацькаўшчына» і Саюз беларускіх пісьменнікаў пратэстуюць супраць палітычнага пераследу грамадскіх актывістаў.

Пасля перыяду ўяўнай лібералізацыі і пачатку доўгачаканага дыялогу з дэмакратычнымі краінамі беларуская ўлада зноў пачала прымяняць гвалт у адносінах да мірных дэманстрантаў, грамадскіх актывістаў, дзеячаў культуры, практыкаваць арышты і збіццё ўдзельнікаў негвалтоўнага супраціву.

Сістэмны эканамічны крызіс, у якім сёння знаходзіцца Беларусь, а таксама шэраг непапулярных заканадаўчых захадаў з боку дзяржавы, самы спрэчны з якіх – Дэкрэт №3 «Аб папярэджанні сацыяльнага ўтрыманства», спарадзілі грамадскае напружанне, вынікам якога сталіся лютаўскія і сакавіцкія масавыя мірныя акцыі па ўсёй краіне.

Адказам з боку дзяржавы на такую рэакцыю грамадства, гарантаваную Канстытуцыяй Рэспублікі Беларусь, сталі каля тысячы затрыманых, сотні асуджаных паводле адміністратыўных артыкулаў – у асноўным актывісты недзяржаўных грамадскіх арганізацый і журналісты.

Нечуваныя па сваіх маштабах і жорсткасці рэпрэсіі займелі працяг у фабрыкаванні крымінальнай справы па артыкуле “Арганізацыя масавых беспарадкаў” (КК РБ, арт. 293, ч.3) у дачыненні да 26 грамадзянаў, сярод якіх апынуліся палітыкі, грамадскія актывісты, распаўсюднікі беларускай кнігі, а таксама шараговыя грамадзяне. Усе яны былі затрыманыя прэвентыўна і не мелі ніякага дачынення да арганізацыі і правядзення ні папярэдніх акцый пратэсту, ні святкавання Дня Волі, што ладзілася 25 сакавіка.

Затрыманні па справе 26-ці праводзіліся гвалтоўна і нагадвалі выкраданні людзей невядомымі асобамі ў цывільным. Сваякі і адвакаты некалькі сутак не мелі інфармацыі пра месцазнаходжанне зняволеных, іх стан здароўя і прычыны арышту. Цяпер 26 затрыманым інкрымінуецца падрыхтоўка і навучанне асобаў для ўдзелу ў масавых беспарадках, за што ім пагражае да трох гадоў турэмнага зняволення. Перакананыя, што ўзбуджаная адносна іх крымінальная справа носіць выключна палітычны характар, з’яўляецца бяздоказнай і мае адзіную мэту – запалохаць грамадства і адцягнуць увагу ад сацыяльна-эканамічных праблем у краіне.

МГА “Згуртаванне беларусаў свету «Бацькаўшчына»” і грамадскае аб’яднанне “Саюз беларускіх пісьменнікаў” выказваюць абурэнне хваляй палітычных рэпрэсій у дачыненні да прадстаўнікоў беларускай грамадзянскай супольнасці.

Патрабуем ад беларускіх уладаў спыніць рэпрэсіі, неадкладна вызваліць усіх зняволеных і зняць несправядлівыя абвінавачанні, а таксама прыцягнуць да адказнасці тых службовых асобаў, якія парушаюць канстытуцыйныя правы грамадзян.

Заклікаем беларускае грамадства ў краіне і за яе межамі да праяўлення салідарнасці з затрыманымі і іх сем’ямі.

Заклікаем міжнародную грамадзянскую супольнасць і кіруючыя органы дэмакратычных краін свету рашуча адрэагаваць на рэпрэсіі супраць грамадзянаў Беларусі і запатрабаваць ад беларускага кіраўніцтва забеспячэння правоў чалавека і выканання нормаў законнасці.

Выказванне грамадзянскай пазіцыі і патрыятызм не з’яўляюцца злачынствам.

The “Case of 26” is a new wave of political prosecution: the statement of the Association «Baćkaŭščyna» and the Union of Belarusan Writers

The International Public Society “Belarusans’ World Association «Baćkaŭščyna»” («Homeland») and the Union of Belarusan Writers protest against the political prosecution of public activists.

After the period of semblant liberalization and the beginning of the long-awaited dialogue with democratic countries, again has Belarusan power started to use violence towards peaceful demonstrators, public activists, and cultural figures, as well as to resort to arrests and beatings of nonviolent resistance participants.

The current systemic economic crisis in Belarus and a number of unpopular legislative measures on the part of the state, the most controversial of which is Decree №3 "About the prevention of social parasitism", aggravated tensions in society that resulted in mass peaceful protest actions all around the country in February and March.

The answer of the state to this reaction of society, which is guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, was about a thousand of arrested persons, hundreds of people condemned according to administrative articles - basically activists of non-state public organizations and journalists.

Unprecedented as for their scale and cruelty repressions were continued by the starting of a criminal case according to the Article called “The organization of mass riots” (Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, Article 293, Part 3) against 26 citizens, among whom there are politicians, public activists, distributors of Belarusian-language books, as well as ordinary citizens. All of them were arrested preventively and had nothing to do with the organization and carrying-out of either previous protest actions, or celebrating of the Freedom Day on March 25th. In violation of the presumption of innocence the state media portrait them as provocateurs who planned mass riot” reads the statement.

The detentions within the framework of the “Case of 26” were implemented violently and reminded of kidnappings by unknown persons in mufti. For a few days, relatives and lawyers had no information on where the prisoners were kept, on their state of health and the reasons of the arrest. Now, the 26 arrested people are incriminated the preparation and training of persons in order to take part in mass riots, for which they can receive three years of imprisonment. We are convinced that this criminal case against these people is of exclusively political character, it is unsubstantiated and its only purpose is to frighten society and to distract its attention from the socially-economic problems in the country.

The IPS BWA «Baćkaŭščyna» and the public association “Union of Belarusan Writers” express their indignation against the wave of political repressions towards representatives of Belarusan civil society.

We demand from the Belarusan authorities to stop the repressions, to immediately release all the prisoners, and to dismiss the unfair charges, as well as call to account the officials who infringe citizens’ constitutional rights.

We exhort Belarusan society in the country and abroad to evince solidarity with the arrested people and their families.

We urge the international civil society and leaders of democratic countries of the world to resolutely react to the repressions against citizens of Belarus and to demand from Belarusan power to provide the implementation of human rights and to obey to the norms of legality.

To express one’s civic stand and patriotism is not a crime.
